Edmonton police investigate after cyclist killed in collision

A cyclist is dead and city police are investigating after a collision involving a flat-deck picker truck-and-trailer occurred Monday afternoon.

A 62-year-old man driving the truck east on 94B Avenue around at 3 p.m. attempted to turn south onto 50 Street when he struck a cyclist. The 64-year-old man riding the bike sustained fatal injuries at the scene.


The EPS major collision investigations section is investigating the crash. Speed is not considered to be a factor.

The intersection was closed to traffic Monday afternoon as police investigated. Police expected to reopen the intersection by late Monday evening.

Any witnesses to the collision are asked to call police at 780-421-3551.
